Hi:

I captured a frame of dx9 demo through Intel GPA Graphics Monitor, but got a crash when I tried to open the Graphics Frame Analyzer.

GPA Tool with H.265 encoder

I start GPA tool and use system analyzer to view total GPU load and mfx usage. Then I start sample_encode provided in Media Studio Professional eval version to encode. The sample_encode.exe hangs at first frame itself at "Processing Frame: 1"

If I start GPA tool after starting sample_encode.exe, sample_encode.exe runs fine till GPA system analyzer is started, once system analyzer is started, sample_encode.exe hangs at stating for e.g. "Processing Frame: 400".

If I don't use GPA tool at-all, sample_encode.exe runs to completion.

I am running this on Win-10, Core-M5 Intel stick

How to let system analyzer automatically export CSV files

$

We are using GPA System Analyzer to study dynamic metrics (e.g., GPU Busy) and export them into a CSV file. After workload start to run, we manually click "CSV" button to start export. Because of this manual process, metrics for the first two or three seconds cannot be exported. What is the BMK to resolve this issue?

Thanks!

"Cannot attach to application" when running Rainbow Six: Siege through GPA

Title.

The game has two .exe files, tried both of them already at least 10 times. I tried a 2014 and this year's version of GPA, none work.

When I run the automatic detection and run the game through the GPA, I get a message saying "Cannot attach to application" and I cannot open the HUD nor anything. Same with the previous things.

Same captured frames, different result ?

Hi there first post here, but I've been using GPA for a long while in my career, however there's something I've just figured out and i'm not sure if it's an issue or if it's normal.
I'm hoping someone can explain to me why is it that when i open the same frame twice on the same PC I get different GPU ms results ??
I'm guessing it's calculating upon the reconstruction of the frame, but i dunno :/ I'm a tech art not a master programmer yet ;)

Thx in advance this is really making me doubt a lot, and making my life a nightmare to optimize my game :P

Frame Analyzer does not show application console output

As the title states. This makes it very difficult to debug a crash that only happens when running your application from inside Frame Analyzer.

Putting this under "bug reports", as I think its such a neccessity of a feature.

Heavy Profiler Impact on Application

$

I'm working with a fairly heavy application that is able to render at 60-90FPS on average. Whenever running this same application through the graphics monitor for analysis, I notice that overall application performance heavily tanks, dropping to an average of 24-25FPS. This is an OpenVR application with asynchronous and interleaved projection options turned off.

I was wondering if this is at all common, or if there's a set tracing options that are more expensive than others. It appears that this performance drop happens whenever tracing is enabled, even if all of the other metrics are disabled.

Intel Core i7-7700K GPU Drivers Problem with CentOS 7

Hello All,

I am using CentOS 7.2.1511 (Gold Edition) for Intel Media SDK 2017 R2 to use the Intel QuickSync Technology for trans-coding video files,

I have install the Intel Media SDK with no problem and followed the steps in this documentation: https://software.intel.com/sites/default/files/media_server_studio_getting_started_guide.pdf

But when running the Intel System Analyzer for Linux https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/mss-sys-analyzer-linux

I got this error :

# ./sys_analyzer_linux.py -v

--------------------------

Hardware readiness checks:

--------------------------

[ OK ] Processor name: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700K CPU @ 4.20GHz

[ INFO ] Intel Processor

[ INFO ] Processor brand: Core

--------------------------

OS readiness checks:

--------------------------

[ INFO ] GPU PCI id : 5912

[ INFO ] GPU description: unknown

[ ERROR ] No compatible GPU available. Check BIOS settings?

I have tried to check the lspci:

# lspci -nn -s 0:02.0

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation Device [8086:5912] (rev 04)

Also i doubt the problem was from the BIOS, I have checked the BIOS configuration and it was already enabled "iGFX" under peripherals menu.

Tried to install Windows 10 to be sure, It's worked fine without any problem,

But i still need to use the CentOS.

Here are some info about my hardware:

Motherboard Model: GIGABYTE GA-Z270M-D3H (rev. 1.0)

BIOS Version: F5

CentOS Linux release 7.2.1511 (Core)

Greetings.

Following this tutorial I'm unable to check the captured screenshot using Frame Analyzer. I've pretty much followed the tutorial up to that point. Any pointers here?

Thanks in advance.

Using Frame Analyzer on Unity project on Android: Unable to determine frame file API

Saving many textures to files from .gpa_frame

$

I'm dealing with a program that uses randomly generated textures and I'm trying to assemble a large collection, and I can manually open each captured frame and find the textures and save them, in trying to deal with thousands of textures, it would be a lot of help if there were some way to automatically save or extract all the textures to individual files from each individual  .gpa_frame file.

Thanks
