Disable directX tracing

$

Hi,

I'm investigating why an application is running much slower when started from the monitor. Disabling tracing get my perf back, so it's related to tracing in some form. I have very few itt events, but I have a bunch of directx happening, and I'm wondering if that is somehow related. I remember there was a way to disable directX function tracing in older versions of GPA, but that option seems to be now gone. Is there any other way to turn it off, or can this be brought back in the future?

Thanks,
-Vincent

Intel GPA - No downloads

Was trying to download Intel Graphics Performance Analyzers Standalone and ran into some issues.

  • I went here: https://software.intel.com/en-us/gpa, clicked Intel GPA in the dropdown box and then clicked Free Download.
  • I filled out the form, submitted it and got the e-mail.
  • Clicked the link in the e-mail to download Intel GPA and it took me to a registration page with my serial number in the URL, but nothing happened.  At this point in time I was logged out and didn't have an account.
  • Figuring maybe I needed an account, I created one and now it shows Intel GPA attached to my account, however it says "No downloads".

HD Graphics Display Profile

I have created new profiles for a Fujitsu T725 notebook tablet. I need to replicate these settings to 300+ other Fujitsu T725's. I have reviewed the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Intel\Display\igfxcui\profiles and here HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Intel\Display\igfxcui\profiles\Display indicated by the support page and did not find any settings that would indicate a new profile or were there any difference for that key on another table that has only default profiles.

Not able to debugging a windows store app in Analyze application

Hi,

I have a WSA which I want debug with Intel GPA toolset.
I tried sample desktop applications and just work fine.
The issue comes with my WSA, when I run application from "Analyze application > Windows Store Application tab" I get nothing, I mean the application just run as usual with no debug information. I already bind my app code with "ittnotify" library and wrote a few lines mirroring sample app code.

What I'm doing bad? It left something to do? I guess but I don't know what is. Please tell me if you need more information than I provide in order to help me.

Thanks in advance.

Can we use Intel® Graphics Performance Analyzers for vulkan application?

$

Hi,

I am trying to analyze and compare CPU and GPU load in vulkan and opengl application. Though I am able to connect System Analyzer to opengl application and getting data, in case of Vulkan application I am getting following error:

Connection to graphics monitor failed. Make sure graphics application is running on target machine.

Is it because the tool cannot detect a vulkan application?

Thanks

Priyanka

Application stops working when running Intel GPA - Hangs on SwapChain

Hello! I'm new to the world of shader creation and debugging, but man is it exciting!

I'm writing a volume ray casting application using SharpDX, and DirectX 11. My Video card is a GeForce 9200 and it's maximum feature level is 10_0, so I've made sure to set that feature level in my application code.

I'm writing my application in Visual Studio 2013 Community, and I've downloaded Intel GPA to help with debuggin my shaders.

When I try to launch the application manually from the Application Analyzer, most of the time it just immediately exits, but sometimes it will start, and then Windows will say the application has stopped working.

If I set the analyzer to begin debugging automatically, and I launch the application from within Visual Studio, the application launches, the main window opens, and nothing happens.  When I pause execution and look at the call stack, I see that the application is just sitting on the SwapChain call.

Any ideas on how I can fix this? Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

GPA connection fail

Hello. I've installed GPA and I'm trying to use it with up-to-date Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Tab E 9.6 devices. Google, Intel USB drivers are installed. Windows 10 Pro is used.
On the first GPA installation System Analyzer successfully connected to both devices and displayed lists of installed applications. Next, I've installed necessary application on devices, but it was not possible to connect GPA anymore. It said "Cannot run application. This platform is not debuggable...". I've tried to reboot target devices, reboot windows, restart adb, reinstall GPA application on target devices, but nothing helped. What should I do?

Hi

I have installed the latest Intel® GPA 2015 R4 on my Ubuntu 14.04. I have also installed the Latest graphics drivers for Intel. I am  using 4th Generation processor (i5-4570). When I run the run_app -s command in the terminal, the system analyzer dialog box opens up and when I type my PCs IP address or just localhost, I encounter the following error

Connection to Graphics Monitor has failed. Make sure graphics monitor is running on the target machine ( I have attached the screenshot as well)

Please help me fix this issue.

Hi,

I noticed that Intel will have a booth at GDC 2016 this coming March.

I was wondering if anyone from the Intel GPA team will be there, and if it would be possible to have a chat with them about the Graphics Frame Analyzer and perhaps learn some tips and tricks, and show how I've been using it for development of our games.

Get YOUR game analyzed at GDC 2016!

The Intel® Graphics Performance Analyzers team is offering hands on performance tuning for your game at GDC.  Participants will have the opportunity to have their game analyzed by our performance optimization experts and Intel® GPA.   Each session is a one on one 90 minute session to ask questions about performance, learn Intel® GPA and understand performance opportunities within YOUR game!

What you need to do:

  • Send an email to seth.schneider@intel.com to schedule a time slot during the conference. Slots are first come first serve, so register soon for the slot that fits your schedule best.
  • Bring your application (.apk, .exe, etc.) to GDC ready to be analyzed.  You can bring your development laptop or use on of our provided analysis systems.

At the conference:

  • Meet with us to get your game ready to be analyzed by our experts.  Together we will get the analysis system ready with your game and Intel® GPA.  (All meetings will be held in a pipe and drape room for privacy)
  • Once the system is ready, our experts will analyze your game with you one on one for 90 minutes.
  • Once the 90 minutes are up, you will have a better understanding of your game’s performance and how to use Intel® GPA!

Feel free to post any questions about logistics or any of the items above.

Best,

Seth

Hello,

I updated my GPA version from 2014 R2 (gpa_14.2_221091) to 2015 R4 (gpa_15.4_release_276272_x64_standalone) but It doesn't work properly.

The RenderTarget previews on the left seem to be okay but most of them are staying black when I select them in the Rendertarget window.

My application uses DirectX 10. I have an intel HD 530 with driver 10.18.15.4281.

Intel GPU metrics API for Windows

$

Hello.

I would like to ask if there is any API available for Windows to leverage GPU metrics like GPU load and MFX decode/encode usage in another application.

There are a lot of developers asking for this API, in order to use Intel's GPU metrics in their apps, like Windows gadgets GPU monitoring tools and other applications, outside GPA or other Intel's tools.

Thanks!

How do I get Intel GPA to show render target result?

I'm beginning to use Intel's GPA to debug my Direct3D11 application. I am able to capture a single frame successfully and open the trace file with the frame analyzer for DirectX. I would like to be able to see the render target output so that I can select pixels and view their trace...How do I accomplish this?
